About the position

The Expert Batch (PL/1, CONTROL-M) Developer will work on batch processing, legacy system integration, and cloud modernization initiatives. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing batch jobs, supporting company’s environments, and ensuring efficient job scheduling and system performance. This position also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy processes and maintain high reliability across systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain batch processes in company’s environments, including job scheduling using Control-M.

  • Support legacy systems (PL/1) and integrate them with modern cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

  • Optimize batch job performance, throughput, and resource utilization.

  • Collaborate with cloud modernization teams to migrate or re-engineer legacy batch processes.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across batch jobs, scheduling, and related systems.

  • Maintain documentation, monitor job execution, and ensure compliance with operational standards.

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient batch processing solutions.

Competencies

  • Expert-level experience (7+ years) with PL/1 programming.

  • Strong experience with batch processing and job scheduling tools, preferably Control-M.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud modernization initiatives and legacy system integration.

  • Proven ability to optimize job performance, throughput, and operational efficiency.

  • Solid analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in complex, enterprise environments.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Team-player with high attention to detail.

  • Fluency in English.
